Solunar feeding forecasts, major and minor fish activity windows, real-time USGS water temperature, and NOAA atmospheric pressure trends for Cedar Creek Lake (Alabama). Verified depth tactics, biological thermal baselines, and conservation guidelines for freshwater anglers.
Wind Advisory issued October 9 at 11:34AM CDT until October 11 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL
Depth Guide: Surface water temperature directly regulates fish metabolic activity and foraging depth positioning.
Feeding Index: Steady barometric pressure sustains predictable feeding habits across primary ambush points and drop-offs.
Chop & Presentation: Light surface ripple breaks sunlight glare and disguises terminal tackle, prompting cautious game fish to strike moving lures.
Lunar Timing: Prime major window active around 11:04 AM CDT – 1:04 PM CDT. Astronomical alignment drives peak foraging intensity on Cedar Creek Lake.
Current index calculated from verified local atmospheric, hydrographic & alert inputs.
Fair for fishing (55/100), from 5 available inputs. Supporting this: Wind 10 mph from the east-southeast. 0% chance of precipitation. The forecast mentions thunderstorms, which carries a risk penalty. Not available from a verified source for this lake: pressure trend, water temperature. Confidence is moderate (74%) because some inputs are unavailable or older than ideal.
Major feeding periods coincide with lunar transit (moon overhead and underfoot); minor periods occur during moonrise and moonset.
Moon Overhead (Transit)
Moon Underfoot (Antitransit)
| Feeding Window | Period Type | Astronomical Trigger | Feeding Intensity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11:04 AM CDT – 1:04 PM CDT | Major Window | Moon Overhead (Transit) | High |
| 11:28 PM CDT – 1:28 AM CDT | Major Window | Moon Underfoot (Antitransit) | High |
| 5:34 PM CDT – 6:34 PM CDT | Minor Window | Moonset | Moderate |
| 6:29 AM CDT – 7:29 AM CDT | Minor Window | Moonrise | Moderate |
Solunar Science: Major periods produce peak gravitational tidal pull on aquatic organisms. Times and moon phase are computed locally from Cedar Creek Lake's coordinates and current astronomical orbit.
